Training for the upcoming 2026 CHSAA High School Lacrosse season will consist of 3 components:
- USAL on-line training material
- CWLOA on-line/in person classroom training
- CWLOA on-field training
The requirements for certification can be found here.
All Members must:
- Attend Classroom training sessions (virtual).
- See classroom training sessions below for your level.
- Attend the 2-hour Rules Interpretation meeting on January 25th, 2026 from 9am – 11am (virtual).
- Take and Pass USAL Rules Exam for High School
- Attend on field High School Play Day on Saturday February 28th, 2026 at various locations. This information will be emailed to you.
2026 Classroom Sessions:
The USAL Regional Academy will count as 2 of the required 6 hours of classroom training.
Find your level and attend the required number of sessions.
Early-Career Officials (0-2 years):
- Tuesday, Jan 13 or Thursday, Jan 15th – 7pm – General Intro to Lacrosse Officiating
- Tuesday, Jan 20th – 7pm – Minor Fouls/Goal Circle
- Thursday, Jan 22nd – 7pm – Major Fouls / Goal Keeper Fouls
- MANDATORY: Sunday, Jan 25th 9am – Rules Interpretation *Mandatory”
- Tuesday, Feb. 3rd (optional) @7pm – Positioning, Mechanics and Game Situations
- Saturday, Feb. 28th – PLAYDAY – On-Field Training
Experienced Officials (3+ years):
Experienced officials are encouraged to attend any of the early-career officials training above in addition to the following required training sessions:
- MANDATORY: Sunday, Jan 25th 9am – Rules Interpretation *Mandatory”
- Tuesday, Feb. 3rd @7pm – Positioning, Mechanics and Game Situations Session
- Thursday, Feb. 5th @7pm – Complex Penalty Administration and Restraining Line
- Saturday, Feb. 28th – PLAYDAY – On-Field Training
On-going Training Throughout the Season:
- Manage It Q&A: Bi Monthly In-Season Zoom Training
- Held virtually throughout the season to discuss game situations, rules clarifications or memos, and anything else that comes up. Must attend 2 to be considered for playoff game assignments:
- All 2026 Q&A’s will be on the following Sundays at 7pm:
- March 8th
- March 22nd
- April 12th
- April 26th
- May 3rd
